Bowling for Pulmonary Fibrosis!

October 12, 2015

On behalf of our family we would like to THANK YOU for your kindness and generosity. Our bowling fundraiser, in honor of Vincenzo Ciavaglia would not have been a success without the support from our family, friends and business associates. We can’t express how much we appreciate it. We were overwhelmed with the donations, the support and the participation that evening. We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we enjoyed having you all there. We are delighted to announce we raised $19,199.44 for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

These funds will be used to provide awareness, provide disease
education and fund research. We couldn’t have done it without each of

GOD BLESS all of you and your families.

With love,
Virginia, Dave, Orietta, Nico & Christian Ciavaglia

We hope that you will join us for our bowling fundraiser in memory of Vincenzo Ciavaglia on October 2nd at Five Star Lanes.

Our father passed away on January 28, 2014 at the young age of 64 of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The term “idiopathic” is used when it is unknown what caused the disease.  He died of this horrible disease that we had no idea existed.

In IPF the tissue becomes thickened and stiff which makes it difficult for the lungs to work properly. As pulmonary fibrosis gets worse, you become progressively short of breath.  The scarring associated with pulmonary fibrosis can be caused by a multitude of factors. But in most cases, doctors can't pinpoint what's causing the problem.  The lung damage caused by pulmonary fibrosis can't be repaired.

IPF is a disease that many people are unaware they have until it is too late. The FDA recently approved two new treatments for IPF. We want to educate people how important it is to find a cure for this disease!

Thank you,
Lisa Papke and Dave Ciavaglia
