Donor Advised Funds

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a simple, tax efficient charitable investment account with the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations that are meaningful to you, like the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a donor advised fund, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then those funds can be invested for tax-free growth, and you can recommend grants to virtually any IRS-qualified public charity.

Yes! Please include the fundraiser's name on your grant application so we credit it appropriately towards their fundraising goal. You can also email development@pulmonaryfibrosis.org to alert us of the donation.

To establish your donor advised fund, you’ll need to find a sponsoring organization at a financial institution or through a community foundation and make an irrevocable contribution which could include cash, stock, real estate. You’ll receive an immediate deduction for the full fair market value (subject to IRS limited) and your assets can grow tax-free. Once your DAF is funded, you can start recommending grants to qualified public charities such as the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
