PFF Education Symposium Brings PF and ILD Experts Directly to Patients and Families
CHICAGO, Oct. 15, 2026 — The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) will bring together leading experts from its medical team and across the fields of pulmonary fibrosis (PF) and interstitial lung disease (ILD) for the PFF Education Symposium, taking place virtually on November 12–13, 2026. The two-day event is designed for patients, caregivers, lung transplant recipients, family members and others affected by these complex lung diseases. Registration is now open.
The Symposium will connect participants with trusted information they can use in everyday life, from the latest research and treatment options to supplemental oxygen, care decisions, and coping with loss. Because the event is virtual, participants can hear directly from experts and connect with the PF and ILD community from wherever they are.
"Living with pulmonary fibrosis or interstitial lung disease requires more than clinical treatment. Patients and families need reliable information, practical tools and a community that understands what they are facing," said Dr. Amy Hajari Case, Chief Medical Officer of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. "The PFF Education Symposium brings those resources together in one place, helping people feel more informed and prepared as they navigate life with PF."
Education for Every Stage of the PF Journey
Sessions will address a wide range of topics, including:
- Research and clinical trials: The latest developments in PF and ILD research
- Treatment and daily care: Supplemental oxygen, medications and treatment options
- Making care decisions: Practical information to help patients and families navigate their care
- Life after diagnosis and lung transplant: Guidance for living well with PF and ILD and navigating post transplant
- Grief and loss: Resources and support for those coping with the loss of a loved one
The Symposium reflects the PFF's broader role in connecting people affected by pulmonary fibrosis with expert care, education, research opportunities, and a strong community. Through its national Care Center Network, resources for the newly diagnosed, support groups, and programs such as the PFF Walk, the Foundation helps patients and families find guidance and connection throughout their journey. The PFF also conducts research through initiatives including the PFF Community Registry, which gives patients, caregivers, family members and lung transplant recipients an opportunity to contribute directly to the search for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
