My Mom, Adriana Reed, was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) in December 2014. She owned her own business, Ms E's Place, and had to close the store due to her illness and declining health.

We sat down and started talking about how many people in our area have PF and how is there is no awareness. I told my Mom this needed to change and it was up to us to create awareness, but how? The school has a fundraiser called Volley For The Cure to help raise awareness and money for cancer. I told my Mom since my daughters, Alexandria and Isabella, both play basketball, how about Points For Pulmonary Fibrosis? She loved the idea and I ran with it.

Mr, Hinton, Sandy Valley AD, was quick to jump on board and so were a few other local schools. Our first event will be at Sandy Valley High School and followed by events at other local schools, times and dates to be announced. The price for admission to the basketball game is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students. There will be an auction, 50/50 and event t-shirts available for purchase. All proceeds go to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. I know we will raise awareness and hopefully some funds to help the PFF.

Please join us at noon on 12/12/15 for a fun afternoon!  If you are unable to attend but would like to support our efforts please visit our safe and secure First Giving page.   #makeeverybreathcount
