100 Miles to Remember

  • Dates: 08 Sep, 2014

As many of you know, my wonderful Mom, Sally Willis passed away in May 2014. She was my hero, my rock and my best friend. I want very much to honor her life, legacy, and indomitable spirit by raising money and awareness for Pulmonary Fibrosis, a cause very near and dear to Mom’s heart. On New Year’s Eve 2008, Mom lost the love of her life, Bo Willis, my incredible Dad, to pulmonary fibrosis. Her life was never the same.

This fall, I want to unite my love of the great outdoors: (mountains and hiking to be exact!) with finding a cure for PF, a cause that was incredibly meaningful to my Mom, especially during the difficult years following my Dad’s death.

On September 8th, I will be, once again, lacing up my smelly hiking boots and over the course of the next 12 days, I will circumnavigate Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps. My journey will take me through 3 countries and over 100 miles.

I hope you will consider honoring my Mom and her love for my Dad by sponsoring me $1 per mile or any other multiple of 100 that you feel is appropriate and make a donation in the name of Sally and Bo Willis to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. PFF is non-profit organization dedicated to offering care and support for those suffering with this deadly disease. I am proud to say I served on the PF Foundation’s board for over 6 years.

Please send your sponsorship to:

Or make a safe and secure donation online. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

This will be bittersweet trip for me. Not having my Mom and Dad in my life anymore is deeply sad for me. However, the incredible beauty of the mountains will be a source of great comfort and a gentle reminder that my parents are still with me.

Thank you,
