Find a Support Group
Why join a support group?
Joining a support group offers a safe space to connect with others who are also living with PF and ILD. Through support groups, you can gain perspective, learn new ways to navigate your diagnosis, build community, and even make lasting friendships and connections among the other members. A diagnosis of PF and ILD can feel isolating. Many people who join support groups experience improved mental health, hope, and feel empowered to take charge of their PF and ILD journey.
Connecting with peers can help you cope, and you’ll learn a lot from other support group members. Their recommendations are not a substitute for the care you receive from your healthcare team. Talk with your doctor before making changes to your care plan. If you’re struggling with persistent sadness, anxiety, or grief, a support group might not be the right kind of help. Your doctor can provide counseling resources if they think it would be beneficial for you.
Support Group Search Tool
Use the Search Tool in two easy steps to connect with other community members.
1. Choose the checkbox for your preferred meeting format: Support Group (for meetings in-person or based in a geographic location), Virtual Group (meetings held online) or both!
2. Enter your ZIP code to view your selection of groups and click Search. You can find each group's meeting and contact information on their own page by clicking See Details.
Download PDF instructions here or watch a short video here for further information on how to use the Search Tool. If you still require assistance or are looking for an international group, please contact the PFF Help Center at help@pulmonaryfibrosis.org or 844.TalkPFF (844.825.5733).

How can I find community through a support group?
Engaging with others who share the experience of living with PF and ILD can provide empowerment, education, and support. It can also be overwhelming - not knowing where to start or what to expect when joining a support group. Hear from support group leader, Rebecca, on how she found community when she joined a support group and ways that you can too.
Contact the PFF Help Center at help@pulmonaryfibrosis.org or 844.TalkPFF (844.825.5733) for assistance finding your community.
