LIVING WITH PULMONARY FIBROSIS

Hi My name is Donna White and I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in September 2009 during a six day hospital stay. The first time I heard "scarring of the lungs" was while living in California in appoximately 2004. It was during this year I was diagnosed with Pneumonia for the first time.

LIFE AFTER A LUNG TRANSPLANT

My name is Ken Carrell; I am a right lung transplant as of April 12, 2008. I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in June of 2003. I can still remember the moment the Pulmonologist told me, "You understand this is a terminal disease." My wife and I were in shock.

I continued to work and not need oxygen until February 14th of 2008.

HONORING THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED

My wife was diagnosed with IPF in Oct 2005 after a battle of breast cancer, which she beat the cancer. But not the IPF she passed this past January 15,2011 after 17 days in the hospital. She was on 6lilters of oxygen for 2years and a c-pap at nite. She was very active until December 29,2010 when she went into the hospital.

PROMINENT PEOPLE LOST TO PULMONARY FIBROSIS

Originally an Alabama native, Odetta Holmes grew up in Los Angeles and pursued her music career at Los Angeles City College. As a classically trained folk, blues, and gospel singer, Odetta utilized her talent to champion African American music and civil rights issues for over 50 years.
