Diane ReichertThe Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of PFF Ambassador Diane Reichert. Diane was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) in 2013 and following her diagnosis, became an Ambassador for the PFF to help educate and raise awareness about her disease.

As an Ambassador, Diane generously shared her story with other patients and caregivers coping with pulmonary fibrosis (PF), providing limitless encouragement and highlighting the educational resources provided by the PFF. She testified before the FDA at the Patient-Focused Drug Development Meeting for IPF in September 2014 and was the driving force behind the PFF’s #BlueUp4PF campaign. The #BlueUp4PF campaign raises awareness of PF by encouraging patients, caregivers, friends and family to dye a blue streak in their hair in honor of Global Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month in September.

“Diane’s optimism and enthusiasm for life remains an incredible inspiration not only to us at the PFF but to everyone whose life she touched,” said Courtney Firak, Director of the PFF Ambassador Program. “She always remained focused on living her life to the fullest and to helping others. We would like to express our sincere condolences to her family during this difficult time. We hope they are able to find some comfort knowing that Diane will be greatly missed by the entire PF community because of her resiliency and positivity in the face of her illness.”
