Daniel M. Rose, MD was appointed the President of the Foundation in April 2009. Dr. Rose has been Chairman of the Board since 2002 and has been involved with the foundation since its inception in September 2000. Dr. Rose received a BA from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT in 1969, and a MD from the University of Colorado in 1974. He did a general surgical residency and cardiothoracic surgical residency at NYU/Bellevue hospitals from 1974-82. He also did research at the NIH in 1979-80. Prior to becoming President of the Foundation, Dr. Rose had been a practicing cardiothoracic surgeon and had been Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery for 19 years at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT.
