Skate for Stephen

This year, we will hold our "3rd Annual Skate for Stephen" on May 20, 2018, in honor of Stephen Craig Ward, who died of pulmonary fibrosis. Once again, we'd like to raise $2,000 to support the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Stephen. We are grateful to those who contributed the last two years to help us meet our goal and we look forward to that accomplishment again this year. The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation's mission is to act as the trusted resource for all who are affected by this disease, which currently has no cure.

Stephen was an avid inline skater having skated in approximately a dozen races, mostly marathons. Struggles during his training regimen eventually led to the discovery of his pulmonary fibrosis. To celebrate Stephen, we will return to Baker Park Reserve, his favorite place to train. We would love to have you walk, run, bike, rollerblade or just reminisce with us. We are holding our "3rd Annual Skate for Stephen" on the paved trail around Lake Katrina at Baker Park.

A note on parking: We suggest you park in the small lot off of County Road 29 (Baker Park Road) approximately .3 miles north of Hwy 12 or the Park and Ride, just .1 miles north of Hwy 12 on Baker Park Road.

The event will take place at the park from 1 pm - 4 pm Sunday, May 20th. We will be waiting with hugs and water at the bench at the bottom of the hill where the parking trail meets the main trail!

If you cannot join us or the weather does not cooperate, we would appreciate you considering making a donation to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in Stephen's name by clicking here. Even if you are joining us, you can use the online donation button.

Thank you for your support. Hope to see you on the trail!
