Since the first Jim Cormier Canal Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2015, great strides have been made in bettering the lives of pulmonary fibrosis patients. We are excited to continue our work with and learn from the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) in this ongoing journey to one day find a cure for Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF).

Over the past two years, two new drugs have been approved, with a third at research level. One thousand patients and counting have enrolled in the[U1] PFF patient registry with the data collected impacting further research and treatment for patients with IPF/PF. Because a diagnosis and treatment for PF can be overwhelming for patients and their families, PFF offers an educational component including a webinar and an interactive website that facilitates communication among patients, caregivers and experts in the medical field. There are now forty care centers nationwide and a growing amount of support groups that address living with pulmonary fibrosis. With the commitment from thousands of families, friends and communities across the globe, PFF’s vision of imagining a world without pulmonary fibrosis is possible.

PFF’s goals and avenues of outreach align themselves through education, communication, research and eventually second chances. Jim shared those same values, which is why it was so important for us to partner with a great organization like PFF. Jim was a firm believer in education, communicating theory into practicality and working to give others a view into what could be. Through being an organ donor, he gave a second chance at life.

We welcome with open arms, patients, families and friends affected by PF to walk on Sunday September 24th at the 3rd Annual Jim Cormier Canal Walk for PFF along the Cape Cod Canal in Bourne, MA. To honor or memorialize a loved one impacted by PF, please consider bringing a poster, picture or collage. We will display it for all to see. If you are walking as a team we welcome and encourage team colors or personally designed t-shirts. Come walk with us so we can all imagine a world without pulmonary fibrosis.

With love,

The Cormier Family
