No ... it isn’t a golf event t his year!!!
Please join us on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 for an evening of Fun, Friends and Food at Woodmont Country Club Rockville, MD.

Lisa Sandler Spaeth, a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt, died of complications from Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF) on May 1, 2007. Unaware of the signs of PF, Lisa’s personal fight with PF began in 2005 with back pain which progressed to a chronic cough and ultimately shortness of breath. Once her diagnosis was made, she underwent innumerable laboratory tests, multiple surgeries and was maintained on high dose steroids. In spite of her progressive symptoms, Lisa never lost her warm smile, sense of humor, passion for family and friends or zest for living. She was a model patient who fought her disease with dignity and determination. Lisa left the world a better place than she found it; she would have wanted nothing more from us than to continue her fight against this dreadful disease.

Since initiating fundraising efforts for Pulmonary Fibrosis, nearly $3 million has been raised for the program. Thus far, funding has been directed towards providing a clinical nurse as a multi-faceted resource for patients and their families, offering a course for community physicians in identifying and treating Pulmonary Fibrosis and laboratory infrastructure. Though much has been accomplished, efforts must continue to achieve the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
