BLUE SHIRT FRIDAY FOR PULMONARY FIBROSIS

You have just taken an important step on what we know will be a successful journey to build awareness of Pulmonary Fibrosis throughout the nation. Every shirt worn each Friday will help patients today, while finding a cure and treatment for those of tomorrow. Your participation and generosity will contribute to this effort in an immense way.

We don’t need to remind you that Pulmonary Fibrosis, unfortunately, is under diagnosed and an often fatal lung disease. Each day our organizations lead the charge to find assistance, treatments and a cure for this terrible disease - and with your involvement, we will speed the process. Welcome to our extended family.

About Blue Shirt Friday

When Jan Orndorff, President of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association of Texas, Inc., came to us with this idea of wearing Blue Shirts on Friday to spread awareness and help find a cure, we asked, “why blue shirts?” Her response was, “I am living with pulmonary fibrosis and that is the color of my lungs.” When Jan pointed out the symbolism of the color blue in her mind, we realized that it was a perfect choice that powerfully conveyed our message.

We all have the same mission to help patients today, to spread awareness, to find treatments and to support research for a cure. Our offices in Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, and California have already started wearing our Blue Shirts!

Please remember this is a grassroots idea all the way from Kingwood, Texas, and after all didn’t the Pink Ribbon start in Maryland? Again, thank you for making this mission a reality.
